In the wise words of your own.. Teambldr..

"Those are signs of a person that is either losing a debate and resorting to low blows to gain momentum or the sign of a person that is actually less smart than he/she thinks they are."

Bobsie.. was a great mod.

It's a good point, but perhaps you just didn't see the sarcasm in my last post :)

Jerry,

I am not HIS own. And I am not in this portion of your conversation unless you are trying to bait me in. In which case I will make that choice, not you for me.

Thanks!Wink

Paul, I just remembered that a mod or another user that wanted to lurk would not need another username becsuse of the option to show or not show when you are online.

The only issue here is id the Mod wants to post as someone else. Then it becomes someone posting as someone other than themselves.

Wil, what is your take on that?

No.. but what I did see was your post before you edited it 5 times.

And my reply still stands.

Read my original explanation again.

The computer I use from work has the potential to be used by others. Therefore, instead of just 'logging out' every time I visit and leave this forum (which is far too easy to forget doing) I log in and stay logged in as a 'normal' user without moderation privileges, so that these could not be abused while I am not at my desk.

It's the same security principle as that you should never ever ever, ever ever log into your machine as root or Administrator. You should only need to shift up to administrative powers when need -- and that by entering a password, too.

Until such a feature is implemented on GForum then I'll continue to use another account, as I feel this is safer than allowing the potential for anyone of my cow-orkers to edit, delete or move posts. Not that they would, I'm just covering my own back.

enough to say

"resorting to low blows to gain momentum or the sign of a person that is actually less smart than he/she thinks they are."

is still valid.

Not for years! How does it go again: "knock knock... is this the right room for an argument?" LOL

My 7th grade history teacher showed us that. I don't remember it though. Just remember he went into a room or something and sat down with some other guy and ended up like yelling at himself.

That's almost as bad users turning of the "Visible in Who's Online" setting to off, so they can login in stealth mode... Laugh What do I care if people know I'm online.

I'm glad you are, you'd be surprised how similar some pm's I get are to that and they aren't joking Wink

I haven't gone to the stage of blocking pm's yet, I don't like that idea.

Hear hear. It gets beyond a joke sometimes. People see who are the Veterans etc, make their post in the forum, and then PM us with the link! If we are gonna answer them, then I think we would just answer their thread. People spamming us with PM's just gets on your nerves, and if they are rude in the PM, that will just deter me from replying at all!

I generally don't mind it, I enjoy helping most people and if I have the time I will....if I'm busy though I tend to ignore IM's and PM's and it can get a little annoying when you find the same people messaging you every few minutes.

"Are you there", "Answer me" .....Im not a personal programmer :)
