Gossamer Threads, Inc. is a big-picture web technology company based in beautiful downtown Vancouver, British Columbia. We take a collaborative approach to our business model, and view all of our business relationships as partnerships.

Building Interior

We’ve been at this a while

Founded back in 1996 by Alex Krohn as a response to the lack of suitable software available at the time, Gossamer Threads has grown from a one-person basement operation to a multi-million dollar company with 800 servers, 400 clients in upwards of 60 countries, and 30 employees.

We know the market

Part of Gossamer’s success has come from our ability to listen to and understand the needs of the market. In 2004, recognizing the frustration software customers were experiencing with their hosting companies, Gossamer Threads’ operation extended to include managed hosting.

We think long-term

Gossamer has focused heavily on the development of web applications for tasks such as directory management, database management, web based e-mail, and community applications, to name a few. In recent years, however, the company has shifted its focus toward services and hosting, acting as a long-term technical partner for leaders in the IT, telecommunications, media, and financial sectors, as well as government agencies and higher education facilities.

We support our community

Given our large user base, Gossamer Threads maintains an actively supported community forum and resource center for users and developers of Gossamer’s applications and technologies. The feedback gathered from this community helps us to continually augment our products and services, and continue delivering solid, dependable technical solutions.

Our not-for-profit contributions

Gossamer Threads provides free and discounted product licenses to non-profit organizations, including the Nobel Peace Prize winning International Campaign to Ban Landmines.
