[ERROR] :: Error While Installing GT Community.
I am trying to test out GTCommunity with GLinks, however am getting an error while trying to install the "Auth_Community 1.0.0" however am getting below error:

Quote:
Unable to install plugin: 'Unable to find Gossamer Community configuration at: '/path/to/'. Please double check the path.'

I also tried changing /path/to/ to URL of the location.

In addition, GTCommunity is installed at domain1.com/gttest & GLinks is installed at domain2.com/test1/

I am wanting to do "Remote Application Install", can anyone tell me what install process or where I am doing wrong.

Thank you for the help.

GCommunity doesn't yet support remote install. I had tried to work around it by using multiple installs reading the same database but it would not work with the latest GLinks version.

hum.. however it tells in the read me file that GT Community now supports remote install.

I am using different database for each install.

My main concern was.. what is you are having 2 installs of GLinks and both have different set of templates, however you want to have 1 install of GTCommunity, any idea of workaround such issue?

P.S. I hope GT teams confirms if remote applicaitons are possible as written in Read Me file, or maybe that feature will be added in later versions.

but it doesn't work; unless the installations are on the same server whether they can access the other installation paths (I did have this working).

You can use different template sets in GCommunity and call them using 't'

Okay here is the deal.. I have a dedicated server.. and all domains are on same server. However still have unique IP and logins .

I tried using /home/user/public_html/ type path too, however it don't work :(

P.S.. How did you got it to work?

The IP was for the server and all the domains used it. The server was running CPanel and WHM.

The paths were

I am also running Cpanel/WHM, however have unique IP's for every site/domain..

So will still have to wait for the offical word from GT Team about this.. I really really really hope it works..

Did you install GCommunity 1.1.0 before installing the Auth_Community plugin?

Yes.

This is how I did.

1) Install GT Community at domain2.com/gtcom
2) Install GLinks at domain1.com/test1
3) Downladed Auth_community plugin
4) Tried to install Auth_community plugin at GLinks.
5) Error :(

Hi,

No, remote authentication is not yet supported. To use multiple installations of Gossamer Links (or our other applications) that are tied together with Community, the software must be installed on the same server, and under the same domain (as authentication is done via cookies).

Cheers,

Oh I c.. Thanks for the update.

I am having sites on same server and all domains on that server an access each other db, howver still each site is on different domain and IP.

Just wondering, if guys were planning to add such feature in the 'near future'.

Thank you again for the confirmation.

Hi,

Being on different domains means that users can not use a single cookie to pass authentication credentials between sites, and instead, the sites must communicate with each other to prove authentication.

It is something we are planning on doing, but I don't have a timeframe for it yet. I know a lot of people are interested in it, so it is high on the list. =)

Cheers,
