Useless Password Protection

Useless Password Protection
So, shouldn't password protection via .htaccess be able to keep the fileman script from deleteing a file unless that password is entered? I have a directory that fileman is run on -- it effectively keeps people from viewing files without a password, but delete and rename and chmod still work. Eh? This is a security problem for me. Any ideas? Thanks.

A point of interest might be that my server is using cgiwrap, and therefore so am I.

.htaccess files provide web based authentication, whereas Fileman accesses the filesystem directly, similar to an FTP client.

Nothing you can do I'm afraid without adding the feature yourself.

Though this feature may be included in GT's new Fileman which is under development, we'll have to wait and see.
