In link.html file add the target attribute to the link codes, like the following:

Code:
<a href="<%db_cgi_url%>/jump.cgi?ID=<%ID%>" target="_newwin"><%Title%></a>

BTW: This has been discussed many times in these forums...please use the Forum's search engine.

UH...USING _blank is A BAD IDEA! IT WILL OPEN MULTIPLE WINDOWS AND CRASH PEOPLE'S COMPUTERS! THEY WILL NOT WANT TO VISIT YOUR SITE EVER AGAIN FOR FEAR OF CRASHING THEIR SYSTEMS!

Do you want an example...okay...click on all the links below:

www.yahoo.com
www.yahoo.com
www.yahoo.com
www.yahoo.com
www.yahoo.com
www.yahoo.com
www.yahoo.com
www.yahoo.com
www.yahoo.com

System hasn't crashed yet? Then keep on clicking...

www.yahoo.com
www.yahoo.com
www.yahoo.com
www.yahoo.com
www.yahoo.com
www.yahoo.com
www.yahoo.com
www.yahoo.com
www.yahoo.com

System still not crashed yet? Click some more...

www.yahoo.com
www.yahoo.com
www.yahoo.com
www.yahoo.com
www.yahoo.com
www.yahoo.com
www.yahoo.com

see what I mean!

In addition, to raising the possibility of crashing people's computers...it is annoying to try to keep track of multiple windows opened. With the examples above, you cannot really see it since they are the same sites, however, try the following examples and try to keep track of which window is which:

www.altavista.com
www.excite.com
www.magellan.com
www.infoseek.com
www.lycos.com
www.aol.com

Okay...keep on clicking:

www.altavista.com
www.excite.com
www.magellan.com
www.infoseek.com
www.lycos.com
www.aol.com

Click some more

www.altavista.com
www.excite.com
www.magellan.com
www.infoseek.com
www.lycos.com
www.aol.com

Now, do you remember which window is which?

In addition, AOL 4.0 does not support the _blank value for the target attribute.

Wink

Let's not call the kettle black or throw stones at glass houses, okay.

Now I dont agree to your views about the _blank - sure it can be, and is, annoying with to many windows open, and it can crash computors. But having links and change it so that it opens the links in a new window shouldn´t do any harm as I see it, if people dont like having to many windows open, they wouldn´t click on 20+ links right? they´ll check one link out, if it isn´t any good, they close that window, and they are easily back to your linkpage, and can check out other links.
Who would click ALL links you got without closing the ones he/she dont find any interest in?
well, it was just my 2 cents.

And what are you basing this on? Ancedotal data...I have conducted many usability tests (with real people) over the past three years...and my findings illustrate that people do not in fact close windows...They keep on clicking from the main window.

Would you like to further contest my points? I appreciate your response, but your statements are faulty and are not based on empirical data of real world situations.

Oh ok, well seems you have studied this more throughoutly than I have, so I wont carry on this argument since my "arguments" is based on what I thought people do, or what I do.
I have taken this under consideration and changed my page from _blank to _new aswell, I like the way _new work, and if people want to open more than one new window at a time from my link page, they can quite easily do so themself (open link in new window etc.)
Maybe it can prevent some comp. from crashing Smile

You do know what the first three letters of assume are, right?

Anyway, I don't think that you would really want to argue this point any further.

Lament to know that a simple question is causing a discussion.
I thank Eliot for the supplied help, it was exactly the information that you passed me that I needed.
Unlike some that questioned me not to know to use a simple one I command html.
I know yes to use commands html, I didn't only know in that place to use them.

I thank to you again Eliot, for the help.

Adilson

Obs. Sorry about my english, I'm from Brazil.
