Hey ginola,

Im on VirtualAve too FYI, so I know how they're setup > Smile

I see your problem, and Im thinking maybe either you accidently put a slash after the URL of a Path.

And also, ( *essential* ) did you go back to your Admin Section and click BUILD ALL after you made any changes? You have to do that after a page update. If you didnt, you might have corrected the problem but not rebuilt the page.

Open links.cfg, and make sure the selected lines look like the following:
Quote:
# PATH and URL of Pages to be built. No Trailing Slash.
$build_root_path = "/home/footbot/public_html";
$build_root_url = "http://footbot.virtualave.net";

# PATH and URL of What's New page. No Trailing slash.
$build_new_path = "$build_root_path/New";
$build_new_url = "$build_root_url/New";

Your website is setup so that LINKS is at the top, so that should be your info for your Root Path and URL on VirtualAve.

Hope I helped ya some. Nice Site by the way > Smile its looking good.

Funny I has the same problem with VirtualAve when I used the default templates. Its the end backslash on the link. If you use this url:

http://footbot.virtualave.net/New/

you will see your whats new page. But when Links builds the pages it makes the link this

http://footbot.virtualave.net/New

without the trailing slash and you get those errors. Funny thing is I could never fix it altho I didnt try long. All I know is the obvious didnt work then I changed templates because I wanted it with a different look the template I use now I have a header I made myself and when I created it I used the link that works..lol

Wishing you luck in fixing this...

VirtualAve has a redirect problem in their system. They are aware of it and are trying to fix it. For your "new" and "cool" directories, you have to have the trailing / on them. And, you have to specify this in links.cfg.

Yes, I have done this for a page at VirtualAve, and yes, it does work.

Re: Problem on Virtualave In reply to
does that mean that no board on virtualave.net will be able to direct links from searches? I am having a problem saying:Error: Can't find link id: #
Where # is the number 1,2, so on
