I've installed links 2.0 on a Unix box everything seems to be ok, when I add a Categories/link everything works but when I try to build it comes back with this error "internal error", but the strange thing is although it gives me that error it actually builds. This is doing my head any help is greatly appreciated

Your problem is executing nph files in your server..Read the FAQs in the Resource Center that provide codes for editing your nph files.
