I have deleted all the other posts of mine in this thread as they are now irrelevant!
RIGHT..The Links2 config tool has been updated a lot and can now be downloaded as a self-extracting exe file.
The file contains modified versions of the Links2 CGI files enabling the installer.cgi script to edit the path to perl in the cgi files to the correct path for your server.
You need to read the README.txt file first of all as it gives instructions on what to do.
Basically you need to upload the modified CGI files into the directories stated in the README.txt file and when you run the installer script, the path to perl will be changed to the path for your server and the Links.cfg file will be created for you based on the information your provide.
Hope im making sense.
Anyway download the file here:
ftp://ftp.audio-grabber.com/pub/LinksTool.exe
To try a demo of the script, please go here:
http://www.audio-grabber.com/...bin/test/install.cgi
Ooops...already spotted an error in the code...when the script automatically detects your paths, it uses:
your/html/path/New
your/html/path/Cool
your/html/path/Ratings
...this should of course be...
your/html/path/pages/New
your/html/path/pages/Cool
your/html/path/pages/Ratings
...if you have installed your files in their default locations.
This will be fixed and the exe file updated by Monday.
(FOR ALEX : Im not sure if Im allowed to distribute your cgi files so if I am doing something wrong, please let me know).
Thanks!
Paul Wilson.
(Dont blame me if I'm wrong!)
