I get 500 Internal Error when trying to add or modify from the homepage. What are some possible causes for this?

As mentioned in the target shooting section of the README file:
1) You have not changed the permission of the add.cgi and modify.cgi files to 755 (rwxr-xr-x).
2) You have not defined the path to your links.cfg file properly, by using the complete ABSOLUTE path to your to this file.
3) Your Perl path is incorrect in the first line of these files.
