Cannot build pages in the root directory.
Hi,

I am so frustrated with my directory but it sure helps that there are so many helpful people out there.

The problem know is that I can build my pages fine if I put them in a sub directory such as /pages.

However, I cannot build the pages if they are in the root directory.

Thanks for your support and understanding.

Read the following FAQ:

http://www.anthrotech.com/...inks/faqs/rootbuild/

There are instructions at the bottom for setting the permission of your index.shtml or index.html file in the <ROOT> directory, which needs to be set to 777 (rwxrwxrwx).

Thanks for the advice.

I managed to solve the problem.

I set the permissions for the index.html file in the root directory to 777, and the index.html files in the category directories(i.e outside the cgi bin) to 777.

So everything works fine.

Thanks for all the help.......

Subject: Re: Cannot build pages in the root directory.

Hi again,

In my last post I said that I managed to overcome the problem I had with the root directory and the index.html file. I jumped of joy to soon - the next day I had the same problem again.

Today I managed to finalise and eliminate the problem by using 'Staggered (Auto)' when building my pages.

I had a look at some of the old threads and there it was – the great and helpful thread.

Thanks for all your help.

All the best…..

Regards,

Joe
