Every time I try to add a link, from the admin or home page, I get this message:

Error Message : error in add_record. unable to open database: /data1/hypermart.net/boardfinder/cgi-bin/links/admin/data/links.db.

My files in the data directory have been set to 666 repeatedly..
Help please..

What are your data dir permissions? should 755...

I had the same problem , same error....and a few more. I found that changing all permissions on the actual directory/folder that received an error message.....to 777, corrected all error messages.

The script runs great.

I have tried the previous suggestions, but still get the same error message

Try setting the permissions on the data directory to 775 or 777.

I have tried chmoding it to everything it still doesn't work. The rest of the script works great, I just can't get it to add a link.. Would anyone consider taking a look at it for me..e-mail me at blaney@farmerstel.com and I will give you yhe info you'll need.
