I have a banner program I want to install that requires ssi. Which would mean all html pages would become shtml. I was wondering what do I need to edit and is their an easier method for converting my site to be ssi capable?
There is a Thread in the Modification Forum, something like SHTML and Templates, which provides codes that you can use to edit your .htaccess file (if you are on a UNIX Server).
For information about Banner programs, there is a FAQ about how to insert banners into LINKS template files, located in the Resource Center.
Hope this helps.

I read that discussion.
Is it good to edit the htaccess? I read that it puts more of a load on your server. Wouldn't it be less fatigue on the server if I just edited all the documents? I get over 5000 visitors a day and try to keep my system optimial.
I was just wondering if there was a mod (I am using yahoo style templates.
Please let me know and thanks.

Well, your other option is to change the file extension in the links.cfg file to .shtml.
