Is this right?
When I do a search in admin for let's say link id # 1, the results returned are for every link that contains a "1" as part of of the id #. This seems odd to me. Is this how the search function is designed to function or is this a fixable glitch?

That is correct. Yep...that is how it was designed...use the additional search options at the bottom of the search form.
