DATABASE CORRUPT, URLs go to wrong addresses.
My database is getting screwed up, and I don't know how to troubleshoot it. How can I re-index the database to get it pointing to the correct URLs?

I have reset the LINKSID.TXT file to a number hugher than my highest (1412) and now the database numbers new submissions correctly...
But what do I do about the 140 links that are overwriting the original link ID numbers 1-140

Records that are still in your database can be re-numbered. Records that were actually 'overwritten' are gone, but looking at your database in a text editor will tell you if they are there or not.

There is a script here that will re-number your database.

Hey Pugdog,
Simply renumbering and resetting the number in linksid.txt did the trick!
I was trying to make it really hard, looking for a type of database index file.
Thanks *very much* for the info.

part of the beauty of Links 2.0, is that although it seems complex, it's really basically very simple Smile
