i know links2 can search each category by itself but how? i know it's been answered here before but i searched for it and i can not find it

Are you asking about the Subcategory Search Mod? It's on LLinks and listed on the 2.x resources. http://www.ford-network.at/LLinks/subsearch.shtml
I haven't tried it, however.
