i used telnet to verify links but i can not find the verifying data. checked the data directory but i do not see it there
i chomod it the data dir. to 777 and all files inside it to 666. i even tried adding
verify log but that did not help either.

I don't think it will and I wouldn't even attempt to try to do it since, 1) I known nothing about SQL, and 2) I can't afford Links-SQL.

nph-verify.cgi does not automatically create a log file in telnet. You need to issue the command as:

nph-verify.cgi > /path/to/verification/log

The output from the script will be sent to that log. However, there will be no hyperlinks in it. You might consider using the BadLinks Report mod I wrote which is located in the Resource Center. It gives you a nice looking report with hyperlinks in it that you can use in your browser.
