I have followed all the directions for the Recommend_links mod installation and attempted to access http://www.nicky.net/cgi-bin/ub/Ultimate.cgi but is another language as well as tried to visit http://www.gossamer-threads.com/perl/forum/postlist.pl for advise but got an "access denied". When an email is submitted it jumps to display both success and error html display (in the one page) and then jumps to the cgi-bin and not to the page the user originated from. I cannot find the part in the script that lays out the path it is meant to jump to. Has anyone encountered and resolved this problem?

Obviously there's a bug in that mod, the sendmail configuration does not work properly. Whenever a mail is sent, it is incremented in the log file, but, well, just not sent out. A handy mod, if only it would work!

Yep, seems to be a 'lemon'. It doesn't post the recommendation as you say and sends one on an acid trip. Do you know if any of the other "send to a friend" mods work?

I don't know about the RecommendIt mod by Bignose, but why don't you try the mod Glenn has written a short while ago? Check the Resource Center for "Tell a Friend"...

Sorry that mod doesn't work for you. So, let's see what's wrong.

1) Did you try to send yourselve an mail via the demo-script? If this works, also your's will work. Cause it's actually the same script, I changed the values of the variables only.

2) I've received several notes that the script does work, however also some that it doesn't. So I'm not 100% sure about that...

3) Anyway, to help you I'll need more info. Can I see that script somewhere?

BTW: I wrote this script for my own, see http://www.bikerlinks.de for the script in action. It's the formular on the top left side. Pls. let me know if you do not receive a mail when testing it - and if you'll let me know should it work, it would be also fine to know. Tks.

I don't like the look of "Tell a friend", I prefer something a little less bulky and more discreet like the Recommend-it look. I haven't tried the Bignosebird script yet and will have a look. Thanks!
