I want to use News pro but it uses SSI.
Did anyone know how I can make it work with Links 2???

What is news pro?

Anyway, you can set Links to build shtml pages in links.cfg:

# The extension to use for non index files:
$build_extension = ".html";

Change that to
$build_extension = ".shtml";

News pro is a script I found at
cgi-resources.com it dynamical generates
a news section on a website, also it has an easy to use interface to generate the news direct from the browser.

Uh, wanna tell us why John's tip won't work? Have you tried it?

You can't make SSI calls from CGI pages (such as the add, modify, and search pages. However John's suggestion should very well work on regular pages such as the Index and Category pages.

I had not tied it, I thought the index is cgi generated too.

i got it to work using the new beta version.. it took me quite a while.. but you basically have to do what it does to create news.txt just you put it in links as a new subroutine pointing to the correct location of news.txt and instead of writing to news.txt you read it and return the output...

i can't give you any snippets.. cause i totally integrated newspro into my administration.. instead of newspro.cgi it runs off admin.cgi and all the html is in admin_html.pl
