Hi everybody

I have a record in my database, which is supposed to link to a newsgroup. The URL field reads as: news:alt.yoga

Somehow jump.cgi does not handle this URL correctly, since it does not send me there. Netscape is configured correctly, when I type news:alt.yoga it opens the relevant newsgroup.

well my IE says if I click on a usenet link on my page that I should install a newsreader (or in my case I should configure the IE to use my newsreader ;)). Maybe this is a NS problem?

Well now I've installed my newsreader and it works - i don't have any problems with usenet links and IE - maybe try one usenet link in my linklist (try one in the what's new section) - unfortunately I didn't found a usenet link in your directory to test it.

I checked with your page, but it doesn't work either with Netscape, so I suppose it is really a Netscape problem (neither NS 4.7 nor NS 6 seem to work).

Using IE, I encountered no problems, both on your site and on mine (btw you can find the usenet link under Study_Material/Online_Discussions).

Any suggestion from NS experts?

DesertWolf, I tried your Usenet links with IE 5.5 as well as NS 4.76, they did not work in both of them (404 and blank page). Generally, in IE you have the option of adjusting your Usenet access through "Internet options". Since I am not using Outlook, I don't know how to do that, and there does not seem to be any other option.

try to reload the link - that must work - i don't know why but the server has some problems in the last few days - i got some 404's and sometimes with add.cgi 500 but after one or 2 reloads later it works

I'm looking for a new host right now - if anybody know a good and cheap host in germany please drop me a note - or a free host with cgi, but I feel that f2s.com is now better than the last few days
