I have installed an Astalavista Script on my homepage..

Can i use it now for free ?

Do ya all think i should ask Astalavista ?

I would say to ask them because there is no one here that can tell you with any certainty. And this question really doesn't belong in this forum since it isn't about doing something with the altavista script (you didn't even say it was the one that Alex makes available), it is only about whether its use is legal or not.

isn't astalavista that illegal crack search engine? lol..

anyways.. I made a script that searches 3 search engines.. excite astalavista (lol.. yes altavista) and webcrawler.. and i was told it is legal as long as you put a link to their site.. (on each link..) sort of like metacrawler.com

I asked Guys at AltaVista about 2 months ago but i got no Answear!

i remember some post that the question was asked.. i think the answer was yes.. but you better ask over and over.. to avoid a lawsuit.. lol

Regarding Altavista....

It cost you 15 000$ per quarter! if you want to show the Altavista results on you own homepage. I wanted to use it my self, but at that price...

I got that answer form them instantly.
