Automatic removal of 404 resources

Automatic removal of 404 resources
It's been a while since I posted to this board or kept track with the posts. I've tried to search through the history, but the results only show the last 50. So I ask this question. . . Is there a mod that allows to remove 404 resources automatically from the db when detected by nph-verify.cgi. I've only tried a little to hack it out and was wondering if such a hack is already out so I don't waste my time. I would think it is simple, just do a if statement for status = 404, then call a function to remove the site from the db. I have over 200 dead links that I need to remove ASAP and I don't really want to do it by hand from the admin screen either. So any help would be much grateful! Smile

Some iterations of this have been hacked...but nothing stable with regards to automatically deleting records via the nph-verify.cgi file.
