Hello,

I just installed the 3 Shestopalov mods tonight from the resources center for Links 2.0.

The mod installs a field in links.def and makes a new search algorythym (I think thats the right term) to search that field. He did this because he said that he did not like the way Links only searched the description field. Ins't he just making a Meta Description or Keywords fields?

Does links 2.0 search the Meta Description and Keyword fields when a user does a search? If not, what are these fields used for?

The Meta Keywords and Description fields are used by search engine robots when they spider your site. That is their only real purpose. Links does not search those fields.

Can't you change the fields used in the search by altering the following in links.def?

yep, that's exactly what that line is for in th coding.

True enough, you can change the search fields in links.def. But the meta tag fields are in category.def.

This field only for saving and searching keywords.
