Looking for mod that lists home page categories/subcategories in rows. That is a table with two column rows so a row contains two listings. Then they will line up nicer when there is a different number of subcategories. Tried the typical search terms came up wanting.

Any help appreciated.

I have made this mod. Each subcategories are display by the subcategory.html temlate so that it will be easy for you to change.
