Going nuts !
Hi. Iīm going nuts. For 14 days now, i have been trying to get ugrade.pl to work. ( You know the file, which upgrades your database, when you add one or more new fields )

No matter what way i do it, i always get a internal error.

So is there anyone, who has a upgrade.pl file they know, that works ?

Iīm aware, that i have to change some parameteres - but at least i will know that the files isīnt corrupt !

Feel free to mail it to me on : kim_larsen@oncable.dk

Thanks

Hi,

Check syntax of that file first man to see if there are some errors. Ex: perl -c ugrade.pl

Hi

I know that i have a dublicate threat going. My problem is that i canīt find anything wrong with the upgrade.pl file i have made.

My error log says :

[Sun Mar 31 00:22:29 2002] [error] [client 195.215.114.66] Premature end of script headers: /home/webhotel/rejsebeskrivelser.dk/htdocs/cgi-bin/admin/data/upgrade.pl

But í canīt find the error.

And checking by telnet, is not possible at my webhotel ? Donīt know why !

Therefor i was looking for a file, that i knew was working. Thereby i could rule out the possiblility that the error was the file itself.

to add to Eliot's suggestions from the other thread:
#!/usr/local/bin/perl
#!/usr/bin/perl

hmmm Danish Smile

other suggestions:
line breaks -- check for dos returns ... they get me sometimes too
change to unix breaks just in case
(I'm on a mac so I have to be extra careful of this)

try uploading as binary ... hehe ... lot's of folks don't recommend this but I have to deal with 2byte characters all the time and sometimes this helps.

good luck
