I have just made a very simple mod, that allows the administrator of Links 2.0 to use the contact name tag (i.e. <%Contact Name&>) in the newsletter.

I was always intrigued by the fact that although people give their Name and Email when subscribing for the newsletter, only the Email is ever used (or do I miss something).

The mod works on my installation of Links 2.0, and I hope it will work in general as well. Feedback is welcome.

As I have already said, the mod is very simple. If you want to do more than just include the Name of the person who gets the newsletter, this mod is not for you.

I'm just wondering why you needed to go to the extra trouble of changing @address to @longaddress and $address to $longaddress etc?

Oh, I'm sure you can do it without the trouble of introducing @longaddress etc, but I am not so experienced, and I don't have the time to fiddle around.

Tell me how you would do it (so I can learn!).
