Eliminating "Date"-field What to Change ??
Hello to All,
I want to take out completely the "Date-Field" from the Links Database.
Having a lot of problems with Thai Dates combined with Gregorian and Chinese Dates.
We are the year 2543 in Thailand.
I also do not allow Add, Modify, Rating and Vote.
I am adding and selecting all the links myself.
SO, In what files do I need to blank out functions that are calling the DATE after I have eliminated completely this column in the links.db Database.
Please be informed that my knowledge of CGI-Perl is very low.
Thanks in Advance.
Greetings from Thailand,
Sanuk

Hi Sanuk!

Wow - I'm from Asia too and I had no idea that Thailand has a calendar system that puts you ahead of the rest of us by half a century! (Unless you're joking ... are you?:>)

I think the file you have to work on is nph-build.cgi

The function that requires the date is the What's New one

I'm not too experienced myself so that's all I can tell you, sorry. :)

I live in Singapore. :)

So you guys hit 2000 half a century ago ... wow. You learn something everyday!

Just out of curiosity ... what system is the Thai calendar based on? Is it by any chance something to do with Buddhism?

Hi,
Yes as I know it Year 1 is the passing away of Lord Buddha:
See:
BUDDHIST ERA (B.E.):
The year of the passing of Lord Buddha is counted as B.E. 1.
Therefore the new year is Wan Ram nueng Kham, Duen hok, the
day AFTER Visakapuja Day. King Rama V changed the new year day to April 1 starting after March 31, 2431. Later the new year was changed to January 1 starting after December 31, 2483.

Sanuk
