Some of my titles have " marks in them. It causes a crash in the editor module (modify) because you use " to quote the fields.

There needs to be some sort of escaping applied to the fields in the "value" tags, and wherever it might cause a problem.

It's not just a quirk, it causes netscape to crash if you try to modify-many -- even gave me a blue screen a couple of times.

I have fixed this up in any of the admin screens. I don't think you mean editor module, but rather admin? (Not editor.cgi?).
