I am currently using links2 and will be migrating to links sql in the near future. Consequently, I have a few questions as follows:

Can the variables for links2 be used for links sql or do I have to change all my templates?

In relation to templates, are there any links sql templates for sale?

Hi,

Almost all of your Links 2 templates will work in Links SQL. You will need to add some new ones though.

Links SQL does come with 5 different template sets to pick from: default, mint, snap, av, yahoo, simple.

How about additional fields that we added? Will they work fine? Also, if one wants to add additional fields in the SQL version, is it done the same way as in links2.0 - is links.def file similar?

Hi,

Yes, any additional fields will be imported. To add new fields in Links SQL, you can do this straight from the admin, no need to edit the .def files.
