nph-build.cgi - Server Load Problem
Hello,

I am having a major problem with nph-build.cgi. My host is telling me that it is causing a huge load on my server.
How can I reduce the load of this cgi script?

Below is a line from an e-mail with my sysadmin:

"Reason we are asking is it that it is significantly increasing the load on
the server you are on."

Any suggestions?

P.S) I currently have about 90,000 links and 8000 categories.

Thank You

if you are currently doing a "build all", use the "staggered" or "changed" modes instead.

Unfortunately when loading 25,000 links via a data import "build changed" becomes just as cumbersome. And I hate having to use build staggered every time I add a chunk of links. It has been suggested before, is there a way to add an option to build changed to make it staggered as well? On one of my sites, build stagged takes several hours.
