modify.cgi is deleting alt categories

This is what happens.

When I use modify.cgi and make changes to a link then save the changes, the modify.cgi script removes all the other CategoryID references from CatLinks to which that link belongs. (it's not deleting categories, just the reference to them in the CatLinks database)

I've looked all around and see this is mentioned elsewhere, but no fix has been offered.

Has anyone got a fix or work around for this?

I know this has been fixed before, I fixed it myself using 2.04.
Now that I have updated to 2.05 I am having the same problem of multiple categories being deleted when a user modifies a listing.

I believe it was a change in Modify.cgi but, I can't find the post (after much searching).
