html build total size for 141,000 categories

html build total size for 141,000 categories
Has anyone built html pages for a large number of categories, I have just built the local section of the open directory 141,000 categories 550,000 links and it is taking up 2.8gb. Can anyone who has built html pages based on similar numbers tell me if 2.8gb sounds right.

Hi,

Well, 141,000 categories, and a typical html page is maybe 20kb would give you 2.82 gigs of space, so yes that sounds about right. =)

I built the regional section of DMOZ earlier this week. It is 153680 categories and 593043 links. Total disk space for the html and links-sql cgi/perl is 1.843 Gb.
