What is checksums.dat?
Hi:

I just did a full, blank install of 2.04/Security Fix, and I saw this file I have not noticed before. In admin, it is called "checksums.dat"

What is it?

Try renaming it to .tar and opening it with winzip.

Hi,

Paul, you are thinking of install.dat. =) checksums.dat is a created by our auto installer. It is a checksum of every file that is installed. This way, when you do an upgrade, the installer checks to see if you have modified the file since it was installed, and if so, creates a .bak version of the file so you can compare your changes with the new file.

Cheers,

Alex

Hehe...I was taking a guess based on the reply you gave to someone else the other day about opening install.dat with winzip.
