I have a category structure with main categories and about 4 levels of subcategories beneath. How do I get the Link counter next to the main categories to count all the Links in this main category recursively, and not just the links located in that very category ???

If it's not working that way, then it should. Category counts, at least on the summary pages, should be cumulative, and the number of links in the sub cats should add up to the links in the parent cat -- I agree.

On the listing page, obviously, the number of links in the parent cat should be displayed, with the links in the subcats all adding up to the "total" links in that parent cat.

again, if this isn't working this way, it's Something Alex needs to address as a core design element.

Hi,

The Number_of_Links field in the category represents the total number of links in the current category + links in all subcategories. If it's not adding up properly, try clicking on Repair Tables. If that doesn't work, send me an email with access to your admin.
