Already have a large populated DB and need to add new enum column "LinkType" and assign all as "CompInfo".

May I execute the statement on the command line (or SQL Monitor) or would this cause issues with LinksSQL?

Unless there is another way to populate an entire column (don't see any such option in PHPMyAdmin either).

You should do this from the Links SQL table editor.

Database > Links/Properties.

No, when you add an enum column the default value will be inserted into all rows automatically.
