I just downloaded the 2.99.1 and did the upgrade manually of live installation. Now the automated Upgrades for available updates says

Error: Update failed: Unable to download update file Links.pm: Server returned error code: 200 - Invalid registration number

Same for other available Updates. Hey i know that my license number entered is Valid and i am upgrading the live installation. Not again.... RC's are meant to be as good as final version ... why this new error in RC now???

This is URGENT!!!!!

So i am not alone.
For defense i know, the download area still mentions in RED that this is a BETA still so do not install on live sites. Stumbled right at the first step on RC And the waiting period for me is 13 Hours due to time zone differences :/

The same shall be emailed within next 30 minutes or so. Incidentally, same license number works/worked when tested on test install which was worked up from 2.2-->2.99-->2.99.1 ... On live install it was 2.2 ---> 2.99.1 and does not work.

I had some similar issues, ended up installing manually.

While on it,

On the home page, if the license is not there, or invalid, it should say "No Valid Licence Entered" or something similar, not simply print out "No updates available". It's sort of confusing.

Just for one <%page_id%> feature, i copied over the Links.pm from the test install where everything worked and works so smoothly without throwing that error. After copying over, the Update still shows the same to be available for Update (logically it shouldn't if it is checking the File Version etc)

Seeing the above, i abandoned the thought of copying over the fixed files from the test install...

License cannot be INVALID if we can download and Upgrade a running live site ... Happened with 2.2.0 ---> 2.99.1 (live site) jump and not 2.2.0 --> 2.99 --> 2.99.1 upgrade (test). Well as required we are sending over the License Number .... another insult to injury
