fatal error has occured :: FileMan.pm line 45
I just installed 2.2.1 version and when I click on FileMan, I am getting following error :(

You must set your root dir ! at /home/user/public_html/cgi/admin/GT/FileMan.pm line 45

any idea what is going on ?

Setup > Paths & URL > root_path Smile

Basically, just set it to the path that you want FileMan to have access too (i.e for us, we set it to our templates folder, and not the site root).

hope that helps.

Global Templates don't modify Re: [Andy] fatal error has occured :: FileMan.pm line 45 In reply to

I'm just beginning with Links SQL, I just suffered the same problem as SWDevil:

A fatal error has occured: You must set your root dir ! at /home/virtual/site9/fst/var/www/cgi-bin/links/admin/GT/FileMan.pm line 45

Being *much* less adept in Unix, I'd like to know how you set up your directories; /home/virtual/site9/fst/var/www/html/links looks like it is going to get really crowded really fast.

I made a directory
/home/virtual/site9/fst/var/www/html/links/templates
and pointed fileman_root_dir to it.

Probably related, I modified Build > Templates > Global Templates, but it had no effect on the pages viewed in browser - either before or after pointing fileman_root_dir. And that is the real problem.

Other bewilderingly blank box on Setup > Paths & URL
db_php_url
Where should this one be pointing?

Very inexperienced - but methodical & determined.
