I've read the posts about using modify_select.html as the template to show a list of links owned. This is not showing on my site, do I need to alter something to make sure this template is called?

During the "upgrade" you need to install Links in it's default configuration, make a duplicate of your "default" templates directory (just so you have an unmodified copy around), then copy your _current_ links 1.1x templates ON TOP of the new templates. This will customize the old templates, and still make sure you have all the new files such as languages, globals, etc.
If you are upgrading from a Beta, you need to take more care, since you want to preserve your globals, but overwrite your languages file, and add in missing templates.

It looks like it's broken in 2.0.2 for some reason, and I haven't had the time to look at why. Alex will have to address it.
