Links 2.0 Import to SQL?
PirateLinks Suite III URL Extractor DMOZ export question

When I use the Links Suite III I end up with an access Links.MDB file.

Then I run it with the Gossomer Threads 2.0 Conversion utility.

And get the following files:

categories.db
categoryid.txt
links.db
linksid.txt
url.db

How can I make use of these files for Links SQL?

I tried the Links SQL import feature under “Location of def files:”

And get errors

The path to the Links 2.x def and db files that you gave does not exist

Perhaps I’m uploading to the incorrect directory, or telling Links Sql the wrong place to find the files.

I also have the Original Access file from the Links Suite III Extractor

links.mdb

Basically to sum it up, my main problem is I’m not sure the proper format that the import feature is looking for such as /linkssql//admin/file….totally confused where to upload and then what to put in the “Location of def files:”

And get errors

Not definate if this would work, but my suggestion would be to set up a copy of Links 2, then upload the links.db etc file to the /data/ folder, and then do the import from those .def files. Just an idea Wink

    Hi,

You need to setup Links 2, and copy the data files generated by the extractor overtop Links 2. Then in Links SQL, goto Database->Import Export, and enter in the path to where Links 2 is.

    Cheers,
