I have most problems to importing the old data from several links 2.0 directories at same time.

The procedure is this?:

1. Export data from the first links 2.0 directory.
Export categories to a file. Export links to a file.

2. Export data from the second links 2.0. Export categories to a file. Export links to a file.

3. Merge all categories files and all the links files and create one category file and other links file. Change all ID links. Identify duplicate categories and rename the category ids in all files (links file and category file). BUFF.

4. Importing the merged files to links sql.

My problem with this enormouus work is EXCEL. I have Excel 2000 and only save the files to a txt file (the separators arent spaces, no pipes |).

Second, I cant open the category export file from Excel. The error is (SYLK: Invalid file format)

What happens?

What is the best way to import data from several links 2.0 databases to one db???

What type of file is the backup? Is possible to edit the backups file to add new categories & links?
