What do you mean by 'best'?

If you mean the category with the most hits on the links in that category then you can do this with my ExtraStats plugin.

If you mean the category with the most views of the category pages, you will be able to do this with my SiteStats plugin (I just haven't added the lists feature yet).

With ExtraStats plugin:
There is <%Plugins::ExtraStats::CatTopDaily($ID)%>.
But, the line is used only on category.html ($ID).

And it indicates that the number and not the name of the category ?

1/ How to obtain <%Plugins::ExtraStats::TopDaily('10')%> for category ?
2/ How to obtain <%Plugins::ExtraStats::TopMonthly('10')%> for category ?

Category(name) 1 --------------- count 10 for (links) and (pages views)
Category(name) 2 --------------- count 8 for (links) and (pages views)
Category(name) 3 --------------- count 7 for (links) and (pages views)
Cat. 4 ...

I do not see the solution with ExtraStats plugin.

Mick,

I've PMed a global to use with the ExtraStats plugin which will show a list of categories by total hits of the links in that category.

CatTopDaily is a list of the most popular links within a category and not the most popular categories. As you can see this gets quite complicated! If anyone else is interested in displaying the most popular categories by link hits, I'll add this to the plugin.

To show a list of the most popular categories by pageviews you would need the SiteStats plugin.

The statistics on the use of the categories gives a new glance.

You give a large projection to Links SQL.

I hope that the other users go wish this information.
It must be a priority for script.
