I suggest scrapping the current RE: and <C> system. It seems to not work and could probably be improved.

What's broken and seems to have been broken since at least 1.1.1 is that material included after a RE: or especially <C> is often ignored. If the user doesn't preview their post, they don't realize this and then end up wondering where the heck the post they wrote went to.

See attached example (replyto-glitch.gif) of this in action.

Instead of off setting code or quoted material with something like:

In Reply To:


How about putting the material inside of a colored 'box'? Example of what this could look like attached as replyto-sample.gif. The color could be a global variable.

My .02 cents after seeing this glitch in action this morning.

I suspect now that it only breaks when users attempt to edit in or around the re: or <c> material.

I'll play with it and see what I see in the page code view.
