Setting up DBMan
Hi. I've just downloaded a free version of DBMan reccomended to me by a mate as he said it was good for searches.

Now I am an idiot. I use frontpage to design my website, I am at the second from bottom rung on the webdesign ladder.

Does anyone know of an idiots guide to setting this thing up including explanations of scripting etc.

I want to use this to search a list of about 3000+ karaoke songs so the fields I need are "artist" "title" "karaoke code" and maybe "comments". (PS it is purely for use by myself and my friends)

a guide to getting it on my website would also be appreciated. Crazy

yours, Treacle from the UK

ps When i open the unzipped file I get icons which have that windows sign in it... If i want to open it I need to open it with some sort of application but I don't know if I should choose and application to open it with or which one!

Like I said I'm an idiot but everyone has to start somewhere!

There's a great tutorial for DBMan at the following url:

http://www.jpdeni.com/dbman

It will guide you through the steps of setting up your database, and also contains a configurator which will setup your initial files an page layouts. Then you just need to modify them to suit your needs.

P.S. It's best to work in a text editor to modify your files.

You'll also find many tips and trick in the FAQ noted below.
