How can I make the short record Url which links to the complete record, display the record in a pop up window rather than on a new page. This way it can be closed quickly and on to the next record rather than using the backspace key to see the short list again. Will this be possible?

I don't know anything about java, but there is mention of using it for a popup window at

Maybe you can take something from there and adapt it to your needs.
