Using 2 servers to run Dbman SQL
I just had my site go down for about an hour; so here is a question to work around these delays (should they happen again)

I have dbman SQL; could I run the cgi scripts off one server and view/modify..etc the data, mysql off a second server --- that way if the scripts stop working but I can still access the db I can merely put up the temporary alternate server serving the cgi scripts. Perhaps i am just nuts.

Thanks,

Jim

I think if you're using an ODBC-compliant database with the relevant Perl module, the database could reside on another server. Check with your ISP. Wink

I'm not familiar with SQL, but I don't think you can do that. The files and the script need to be on the same server. I'm pretty sure. Smile
