Yeah it s great!

The only problem is, once you log on, the VIEWS and REPLIES columns seem to change to just give VIEWS.

Why cant I see both?!

I see it.

The better option is to view pictures in profiles, since it takes a long time to download with pictures next to each post.

That's one of the really nice things about this script. Each user can choose what he or she wants to do.

The same should go for using signatures. This information is available in the profile and in the past have caused pages to load much slower.

The benefit of having the profile is much the same as having your database store the information and only draw the information in when needed.

I'd like to see the forum be clean from many extra lines taken up by unnecessary signatures within the threads.

That's a good point, Lois. A one- or two-line signature is fine, but it does take a lot of extra space in the thread and we don't have the option of turning those off.

I think that at this point, though, this discussion should go to the main Gossamer Threads forum, rather than the DBMan forum. Others will benefit from it who might not use DBMan.

If you had noticed, Alex has implemented a maximum number of characters for signature files to reduce download times and also querying from the MySQL tables.
