Put simply, is there a way to remove the blank line at the top of the list in the "Sort By" selection box?

I think I've figured it out...

I removed this part from the html.pl

<OPTION>---

It seems to work for now. Before I was just removing the ---.

I guess I'll find out whether it's a good solution for the long haul with enough experimentation <g>.

You can remove it... you now effectively "force" the user to sort by *something*. (You wouldn't want to remove it if the "sorting by" was optional.)

Yes, I would be forcing them to sort; although I usually would be against that, I think that most of my users won't see and/or understand the "sort by" function and would be frustrated by results that didn't return in alphabetical order by last name. But hey, I've been surprised before. :)
