JPD/mitch - WhatsNew MOD and 1969 Log prob
JPD,

Ref my "link to newest records MOD" post @ http://www.gossamer-threads.com/scripts/forum/resources/Forum12/HTML/001243.html. I've since reinstalled the What's New MOD ... but alas, have the 31-Dec-1969 prob again in my log file.

mitch,

Ref my "default.log--1969" post @ http://www.gossamer-threads.com/scripts/forum/resources/Forum12/HTML/001240.html. Yr fix got my log right, but, in-turn, (unbeknowst when I orignally replied saying all was well), killed my What's New MOD, :-0 ... which led me to the newest records MOD post mentioned above ... but that apparently is not compatible with my Short/Long display.

All is now well in Kansas, *sigh*. I've posted my auth_pl.txt, db_pl.txt and html_pl.txt to http://www.flash.net/~murgnam/.

Any more suggestions for a fix?

Thx in advance.

JR

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Could you try one little thing?

In auth.pl, sub auth_logging, change

my ($date) = &get_date;

to

my ($date) = &get_date(time());

See if that does any good for you. (It will really help me, too, so I'll know what to tell other folks.)

(BTW, you mentioned Kansas. Was that just an expression or are you in Kansas? I was born in Wichita.)

JPD,

Simply put ... YOU ARE THE WIZARD!!! Were all just following that yellow brick road to DBMan ... some of us stumbling harder than others, :-0.

IT WORKED, WOOHOO!!! Life is again good, here in San Antonio, :-). Thank You!

Thanks (again) Carol.

I thought I would give it a try too. It fixed my previous log problem and
enabled me to delete the duplicate sub I was using.

Cool! Smile

It's all a matter of trial and error -- lots of trials, most of them ending in error. Glad this one worked for you both!
