I'm sure that it's really witty. But i guess only hardcore perl gurus get to appreciate such high-brow humour. Maybe after years of ardous training I might be able to return to experience the elation of getting a perl joke. But not for now. Or maybe I might even be able to put a regex as my signature line.

Your search - "regex jokes" - did not match any documents.

What does your signature line mean? I was thinking that as you don't have a site you could make one explaining regexs via jokes. So, as you learn they become progressively more witty.

Ugh.

The code in post 1 prints -

Why not try the signature for yourself?

..or search for a thread in this forum called "For the amusement of GClemmons"

(Why do you say "Ugh"? - if i didn't know better it would sound like sneering, but i do know better.)

you must not know (m)any perl programmers. we're low-brow at best. my guess is the point of that regex was to make sure that anyone applying for the position at least knew how to use a perl interp.
it doesn't take years of arduous training to learn that. you just have to read the first page of any worthwhile perl book, guide or online reference.
