I need a clarification on CGI Image mapping and know whether we could execute a subfunction by clicking on specific part of image.I also eager to learn whether we could name hotspots in image mapping and on clicking can it feed that name to database / execute a sub-function with the name feeded to it.
If it could be done in CGI programming,please letme know how it is possible.If anyone can provide some links on this topic, it would be greatly appreciated.

I've used Boutwell's MapEdit program for years although I rarely have a need for image maps anymore.
