This term is quite confusing. Some hosts mention that ftp uploads and are not into bandwidth computation. All outward traffic is taken into Bandwidth Computation. .

What is the "Standard" if any.

Usually shared servers measure bandwidth only as HTTP traffic, mail traffic, ftp traffic, etc, are not included. This is just because it is hard to measure bandwidth for mail/ftp if a domain is name based.

Dedicated servers usually measure bandwidth as all traffic going in and out of the server, and is usually measured at the ethernet port or router level. So this would include incoming + outgoing traffic of all sorts: web, mail, ftp, etc.

Is there a "Free" script available to have a "Bandwidth Consumption" display /log -- daily weekly monthly -- server wide.

On the mod_rewrite part I am sure it would take me more time to churn the document than it would take a rewrite from you.... ;-)
